Privacy Policy
Effective June 4, 2025
Overview
Arshin Tax Management is built for clients who expect discretion. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and the controls you have. We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We collect only what is necessary to provide the service.
Data We Collect
- Identity & contact information — name, email address, and government-issued ID for filing verification.
- Tax documents — W-2s, 1099s, K-1s, brokerage statements, prior returns, and any other documents you upload for preparation.
- Financial account information — account and routing numbers if you provide them for direct deposit of refunds or payment of balances due.
- Income & deduction data — figures extracted from your uploaded documents for the purpose of preparing your return.
- Device & usage data — app version, device type, and anonymized usage patterns used to improve the product.
- Apple Card and Apple Cash data — if you connect Apple Card or Apple Cash, we access your transaction history (merchant name, amount, date, and category) from your device using Apple's FinanceKit framework. This data is synced to your account to display spending insights, budgeting, and net worth.
How We Use Your Data
- To prepare and file your federal, state, and local tax returns.
- To calculate estimated refunds, balances due, and tax liability across jurisdictions.
- To enable advisor review and secure communication between you and your assigned advisor.
- To prefill forms and reduce data entry in subsequent years.
- To display spending insights, budgeting summaries, and net worth within the app.
Financial transaction data — including data accessed via FinanceKit — is used solely to provide the features of the app (spending analysis, budgeting, net worth tracking). It is not sold, shared with advertisers, or used for any purpose outside the app.
Data Storage & Third Parties
Your data is stored in Firebase (Google Cloud Infrastructure), which provides enterprise-grade security, encryption at rest, and SOC 2 compliance. We do not operate our own servers.
We share data only as required to provide the service:
- Tax filing authorities — the IRS and applicable state and local agencies, as required for e-filing.
- Your assigned advisor — who reviews your return for accuracy before filing.
Apple Card transaction data is stored in your account on Firebase (Google Cloud), subject to Google's security standards. It is not shared with Plaid or any other financial data aggregator.
Data Security
All documents and financial data are encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256). Access to client data within our systems is limited to the advisor assigned to your return. We do not store plaintext credentials.
Your Rights & Revoking Access
You may request a copy of your data, correction of inaccuracies, or deletion of your account at any time by contacting us at support@arshintax.com.
You can revoke Apple Card access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Financial Data. You can also disconnect Apple Card from within the app, which removes the connection from your account.
Deletion requests are fulfilled within 30 days. Note that we may be required to retain certain records for tax and legal compliance purposes for a minimum of seven years.
Children's Privacy
This service is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you via the app or by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance.
